GIMS Qatar’s Parade of Excellence, featuring exotic cars, thrills automotive fans
The iconic Lusail Boulevard was a beehive of activity on Thursday evening, with hundreds of spectators, colourful roving cultural programmes and a parade of 100 luxurious dream cars taking everyone’s breath away.
The automotive show, which rolled down the Boulevard’s 1.3km stretch, was named ‘Parade of Excellence’ and was a part of the first edition of the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) Qatar. Curtains will come down on GIMS Qatar on Saturday.
The Parade of Excellence was a dream-come-true-moment for vehicle enthusiasts as it featured some of the most exotic cars on the planet.
Ranging from the most modern cars featuring cutting-edge technology to timeless classics which seemed to have come right out of a museum, there was something for every auto enthusiast gathered at the Boulevard.
The parade featured an impressive array of cars including the iconic 1964 Ford Chevy with its distinctive blue stripes, Dodge Charger R/T, Toyota MR2, Mustang Shelby GT 500, Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Corvette C2, the Datsun GT 240k and the classic 1964 Mercedes-Benz SR4.
The ‘Parade of Excellence,’ organised as part of GIMS Qatar’s ‘Urban Playground’ activation, was a collaboration between Sealine Circuit Sports Club - Mawater and Elite Supercars.
Urban Playground also featured a rich line-up of music artists, DJs, and engaging talks at a designated centre stage at Lusail Plaza Towers. The daily programme of festivities at the arena will run from 5pm until 10pm.
