Hayya Card to be activated for visitors to enter country for Expo 2023 Doha

The Hayya Card, which was widely used to give entry to Qatar for visitors during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, will once again be used aggressively during Expo 2023 Doha, said an official on Monday.
The Qatar government, in January this year, announced the extension of Hayya Card’s validity until January 24, 2024.
The latest announcement sees Hayya Card in use at least until March 28, when curtains come down on Expo 2023 Doha.
Expo 2023 Doha’s Secretary General Mohammed Al Khoury said the Hayya Card entry system would be implemented in cooperation with Qatar Tourism for visitors to the exhibition.
Further details about entry procedures with Hayya Card for Expo 2023 Doha will be announced in due course.
“We’re expecting the participation of 80 countries and the entry of three million visitors to Doha during the exhibition period,” he was quoted as saying.
He spoke about the plans on the sidelines of the launch ceremony of the 2023-24 season of the Qatar Stars League (QSL), which has been rebranded as the ‘Expo Stars League’ this year. Al Khoury formally signed the agreement for the name change with QSL CEO Hani Taleb Ballan.
Hayya Card was used as a Fan ID for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. It allowed ticket holders entry into Qatar, the stadiums and also free access to the metro and bus services.
