Hayya Card to be used as entry platform for AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023
The Hayya Card system, which was successfully implemented during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as well as other important competitions in the country, will once again be used as an entry platform for fans during the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
Hayya Platform CEO Saeed Ali Al Kuwari said Hayya Card could be used for different events in the country, including the January 12 to February 10, 2024 competition.
“Anyone who wants to visit Qatar must apply on the platform and choose the appropriate visa. These include entries for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, the World Aquatics Championships - Doha 2024 and others. The tourist visas launched on the Hayya platform can be used, according to the conditions,” Al Kuwari told Al Rayyan TV.
Earlier this year, Qatar Tourism had revamped the Hayya platform to make it a one-stop destination for travellers who needed a visa to enter Qatar.
Three new categories of visitors are eligible for Qatar’s e-visa.
Hayya e-visa will categorise visitors based on their nationality, residency or other international visa that a traveller already has.
It was earlier announced that A1 category would include people of all nationalities who do not qualify either for visa-on-arrival or visa-free entry into Qatar.
While A2 category was for GCC residents of all professions, the A3 category was for international visitors with visa or residency from Schengen, the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. They will be eligible for Qatar’s e-visa. The A3 category also does not require health insurance if the stay does not exceed 30 days.
Al Kuwari said the process of developing Hayya card from a fan visa to a tourist visa and from a platform for fans to a platform for events in Qatar was successful.
“Now many events held in Qatar use the Hayya platform,” he said.
