HE Sheikha Al Mayassa inaugurates TotalEnergies playground at NMoQ

The TotalEnergies playground at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ), was inaugurated yesterday December 4, 2022, by the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Qatar Museums (QM) HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani. The playground is a novel experience for families to learn about the story of energy in Qatar through meaningful play.
The playground is designed for visitors of all age groups to learn about the various energy sources in Qatar including oil, gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), renewable energies and electricity.
According to Qatar Museums, the unique design of the playground enables you to “choose your own adventure” experience from different pathways that offer intergenerational kinetic play activities. Some of these activities include the extraction, production and distribution of energy where visitors can learn about the natural formation of fossil fuels, the importance of harnessing renewable energies and reducing carbon emissions, and the variety of final products used in society.
HE Sheikha Al Mayassa said yesterday that the playground not only provides a place for children to learn and play, but also celebrates Qatar’s rich heritage. She further extended her gratitude to TotalEnergies, Ashghal and GET for making this project a reality.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies Patrick Pouyanne in addition to other senior officials.
The project comes under the patronage of TotalEnergies and is part of the partnership between TotalEnergies and Qatar Museums. The construction of the playground was facilitated by the Public Works Authority in Qatar (Ashghal).
