
HH The Amir arrives in Jeddah for Arab League Council meeting

HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to attend the 32nd regular session of the Arab League Council at the summit level.

Sheikh Tamim, along with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, were welcomed by Makkah Al-Mukarramah region’s Deputy Governor HRH Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Qatar’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Bandar bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, Saudi Ambassador to Qatar HH Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud and other top officials upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport.
Two days earlier, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi had represented the country during the opening session of the preparatory meeting of foreign ministers, also in Jeddah.
A total of 22 Arab nations will send their representatives to the meeting, in addition to the Arab League and guest nation Ukraine.
The summit is expected to pass 32 draft resolutions as part of the Arab action plan for 2023 that will focus on ‘renewal and change.’ The conflict in the Gaza Strip and West Bank as well as the Sudan crisis are some of the issues expected to be discussed.
