HH the Amir establishes award for Government Excellence in Qatar
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani issued yesterday an Emiri decree, Resolution No. (63), 2023 establishing the Qatar Award for Government Excellence.
According to a statement issued by the Amiri Diwan, the decision was made to increase the quality of government performance in addition to encouraging government agencies and employees to compete in applying the highest standards of quality development and excellence in performance. It was further noted that the award was established to honor the outstanding accomplishments and efforts of all groups that contribute to the realization of the Qatar National Vision.
A further decision was made to establish a committee in the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau under the name of "Qatar Government Excellence Award Committee of Trustees". The committee will be tasked with managing the necessary objectives of the award, setting up the criteria, determining the categories and establishing the procedures.
Adding that the decree will be published in the official gazette, it was also noted that the decision will be effective from its date of issue.
