HH the Amir expresses sincere condolences to King of Morocco after deadly earthquake
HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has expressed his sincere condolences to HM King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Moroccan people after a deadly earthquake tore through the nation, killing and injuring many.
“My sincere condolences to my brother, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and to the brotherly people of the Kingdom of Morocco for the victims of the earthquake that struck various cities of the country,” wrote Sheikh Tamim on his social media handle.

“Praying to God Almighty to bestow His mercy on the victims, and to grant the injured a speedy recovery. May God protect Morocco and its people from all harm,” he added.
Latest reports suggest that the 6.8-magnitude earthquake has killed at least 630 people, while injuring more than 320. It also damaged several buildings, sending terrified residents fleeing into the streets for safety.
The death toll on Saturday morning almost doubled from the previous day, reported Morocco’s state television citing the country’s Ministry of Interior. Of the 320 injured, around 51 are understood to be in critical condition.
