HH the Amir grants Al Wajbah Decoration to Qatar’s Paralympic bronze medalist Abdulqadir

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani today granted the Al Wajbah Decoration to Qatar’s Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games star Abdulrahman Abdulqadir.
The honor came in recognition of the excellent performance by Abdulqadir, earning a bronze medal at the Paralympics Games’ men’s shot put event.
HH the Amir congratulated the hero as well as members of the Paralympic mission of Team Qatar on the results accomplished in their participation at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. He also wished them more success to reach greater heights.
In a meeting this morning, The Team Qatar members thanked HH the Amir for his continuous support and encouragement for sports in Qatar.
They expressed their eagerness and dedication to achieve more in international tournaments in future.
His Excellency the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani also joined the meeting.
Qatar secured its first medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games earlier this month, with Abdulqadir claiming the bronze of men's F34 shot put event after an impressive 11.36m throw, his season's best.
"It's an honor to win a new medal for Qatar as our nation never spare any effort to support its athletes in all sports. I tried my best to claim a medal, and I'm thankful that I managed to win third place and the bronze medal," Abdulqader had commented.
Abdulqader is one of Qatar's most accomplished Paralympians, having also won the gold medal at the 2017 World Championships in London and the gold medal in the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.
