HH The Amir holds bilateral talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo
HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in the Egyptian capital city of Cairo for an official visit on Friday.
Upon his arrival, HH the Amir was welcomed at the Cairo International Airport by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
HH The Amir later held an official discussion with El-Sisi at the Al Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo.
The meeting discussed the improvement of bilateral relations between the two nations and develop it in various fields.
The two leaders discussed a number of current regional and international issues, and exchanged views on them, most notably developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.
They discussed about joint efforts to stop the aggression against Gaza, reducing the escalation, and introducing urgent humanitarian aid to ensure the safety of civilians and contribute to reducing tensions in the region.
The two sides affirmed their firm and continuous support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially their right to establish an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the basis of the two-state solution.
They also condemned all violations committed against the Palestinians, their land, and their sanctities that undermine reaching a just solution for the issue.
The session was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of the State Security HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi and a number of other Their senior officials.
On the Egyptian side, the meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dr Mostafa Madbouly, Director of Egyptian General Intelligence Directorate Major General Abbas Kamel, Chief of Office of the Republic’s President Major General Ahmed Ali, Minister of Health and Population Dr Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and Spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic Counsellor Ahmed Fahmy.
