HH The Amir to lead Qatar’s delegation to Arab Summit in Bahrain
HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will head Qatar’s delegation to the 33rd regular session of the Arab League Council at the summit level, which will be in Manama, Bahrain on Thursday.
Sheikh Tamim will be accompanied by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and other top officials.
The 33rd regular session of the Arab League Council will be headed by Bahrain’s King HM Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, along with other top members.
Arab League’s Assistant Secretary-General and Head of Economic Affairs, Dr Ali bin Ibrahim Al Malki, outlined some of the issues that will be discussed during the 33rd regular session.
One of the key points for discussion will be support for the Palestinian people, in light of the humanitarian crisis they are going through following Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
“One of the topics presented within the economic and social agendas of the summit is an emergency response plan to deal with negative economic and social repercussions of the Israeli aggression against Palestine. We’ll also discuss progress made in completing the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, establishing the Arab Customs Union, Arab cooperation in the field of financial technology, innovation and digital transformation, Arab strategy for water security, and the draft statute of the Council of Arab Ministers of Cybersecurity,” he told Qatar News Agency.
The summit will also approve several resolutions before issuing the final Bahrain Declaration by Arab leaders.
