His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, at the Amiri Diwan earlier today.

The meeting began with Bill Gates expressing his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir for the efforts toward humanitarian and development work across the globe. He particularly thanked HH the Amir for Qatar's support of the Afghan people.

During the meeting, the existing cooperation between the two sides and prospects for its development were reviewed, in addition to several issues of common interest.
