HH The Amir meets with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in London
HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Friday.
During the meeting at 10 Downing Street, London, the leaders discussed strategic relations between the two nations and ways to develop them in different fields.
A number of emerging issues in the regional and international arenas were also discussed. The two leaders spoke about the friendship and cooperation between the two nations and ways to enhance them.

Sheikh Tamim, who is in London to attend the coronation ceremony of His Majesty King Charles III, also discussed about the economic partnership between Qatar and the UK.
HH The Amir expressed his gratitude to the British government for its help during Qatar’s hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He also drew attention to the strategic dialogue that will take place between the two countries this year, during which issues of security, energy and economic partnership will be discussed.
Sheikh Tamim pointed out that trade exchanges between the two countries last year amounted to about £13.5 billion and were steadily increasing every year thanks to Qatar’s investments in the UK.
The talks were attended by Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of Amiri Diwan, and Qatar’s Ambassador to the UK Fahd bin Mohammed Al Attiyah. Briton Jamie Norman, Adviser to the Prime Minister for Military Affairs, and John Pyo, Adviser to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs, also attended.
