HH The Amir meets Jordan’s King Abdullah to discuss developments in Palestine
HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to discuss key regional and international developments, particularly those in the Palestinian territories.
During the meeting, which took place at the Lusail Palace on Wednesday evening, the leaders exchanged views about strengthening regional and international diplomatic efforts for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

They also decided to work hard to achieve just and comprehensive peace for the Palestinian people in a way that permanently ensures the region’s security and stability.
Sheikh Tamim reiterated Qatar’s firm position on the Palestinian Cause and their legitimate right to establish an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also condemned all of Israel’s violations on the Palestinian people, their lands, and their sanctities, which undermine reaching a just solution to the issue.
King Abdullah, on his part, expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Tamim for his continued support for the Palestinian and other just Arab causes.
The leaders also discussed ways to further strengthen ties between the two nations in various fields.
HH The Amir also hosted a dinner banquet in honour of King Abdullah and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting was attended by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of State Security HE Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Khulaifi and numerous other senior officials.
On the Jordanian side, HRH Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Prime Minister HE Dr Bishr Hany Al Khasawneh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs HE Ayman Al Safadi and a number of senior officials accompanied King Abdullah.
