HH The Amir performs Eid Al Adha prayers, meets well-wishers

HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani performed Eid Al Adha prayers, along with citizens, at the Lusail Prayer Ground on Sunday morning.

HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of HH The Amir, HH  Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, Speaker of the Shura Council HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, a number of Their Excellencies sheikhs, ministers and members of the Shura Council, attended the prayers with Sheikh Tamim.

A number of Their Excellencies, Ambassadors, and heads of diplomatic missions in the country, also took part.

His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Thaqil Sayer Al Shammari, a judge at the Court of Cassation and a member of the country’s Supreme Judicial Council, delivered the sermon.

In his sermon, he underlined the importance of Eid Al Adha for Muslims and stressed on the importance of giving, generosity, righteousness, and loyalty.

He pointed out the most important rulings on sacrifice in Islam, calling for the devotion of worship to God alone and the intention of drawing closer to Him through this ritual.

He also urged people to purify their souls, reform hearts, maintain ties of kinship, and strengthen fraternal ties between members of society.

Following the prayers, HH The Amir started receiving well-wishers at the Lusail Palace. He met with Their Excellencies Sheikhs, ministers, undersecretaries of ministries, the Speaker and members of the Shura Council, and citizens.
Officers of the Armed Forces and police, and directors of national departments and institutions, also met with HH The Amir.
Sheikh Tamim will now receive Sheikhs and citizens immediately after Asr prayer, until 3.45pm. Heads of diplomatic missions in the country are expected to meet with Sheikh Tamim between 3.45pm and 4pm.
