HH The Amir, US President discusses resumption of peace talks in Gaza

HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in a phone call with US President Joe Biden, discussed the latest developments in Gaza and occupied Palestinian territories on Tuesday.

The two leaders spoke at length about joint mediation efforts to calm the situation in Gaza and reach a permanent ceasefire.

“President Joseph R Biden Jr spoke today with Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar. The two leaders discussed the urgent effort to secure the release of all remaining hostages held by Hamas, including American citizens,” said a release on the US White House website.

“The leaders also discussed the ongoing efforts to facilitate increased and sustained flows of life-saving access to humanitarian aid into Gaza,” added the statement.

During the phone call, the leaders also discussed strategic relations between the two friendly nations and ways to support and develop them.
