His Highness Amir and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher attended state dinner banquet by King and Queen of Spain
On Tuesday, the Amir, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al-Thani, attended a state dinner banquet organized by HM King Felipe VI of Spain and HM Queen Letizia in honor of Their Highnesses at the Royal Palace. As an expression of the strength of relations between the two countries and as an embodiment of the bonds of friendship between the two friendly countries, the Prince presented His Majesty King Felipe VI with the Royal Isabella Necklace, the highest decoration granted to heads of state and high-ranking personalities.
He also delivered the Royal Order of Isabella from Her Majesty Queen Letizia to HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, the Emir's wife, and Her Highness presented the Hamad bin Khalifa Sash to the Queen of Spain.
Prior to the dinner banquet, HH the Amir delivered a speech in which he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to HM King Felipe VI for the warm welcome and generous hospitality shown to His Highness and the accompanying delegation, as well as for what was said in His Majesty's speech about feelings of amity and deep friendship between the two countries. HH the Amir expressed his desire to continue expanding and strengthening the connections that unite the two countries for the benefit and advantage of the two friendly peoples.
On the two countries' relations, HH the Amir stated that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, noting that these relations have been marked by continuous development and growth, as well as increased cooperation in all fields, particularly education, health, investment, energy, and the economy. HH the Amir reaffirmed Qatar's belief in the resilience of the Spanish economy, emphasizing that he had directed today to increase these investments to $5 billion over the next few years. HH the Amir added that the State of Qatar is currently one of the largest Arab investors in Spain.

HH the Amir congratulated HM King Felipe VI and the Spanish people on the qualification of their national football team for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. HH the Amir invited HM the King and HM the Queen to attend the opening ceremony of the tournament and the matches they like to watch, looking forward to welcoming them in Doha.
At the conclusion of his remarks, HH the Amir thanked HM the King of Spain for the hospitality and honor shown to His Highness and the accompanying group, wishing His Majesty ongoing health, happiness, and success, as well as more growth and prosperity for the friendly Spanish people.
