Italian cruise ship Costa Toscana makes its inaugural call at Doha Port
The luxury Italian cruise ship Costa Toscana, made its inaugural call at Doha Port on January 15, 2023 with 3,474 passengers and 1,410 crew on board. According to a tweet released by Mwani Qatar, the ship’s maiden visit to the Doha Port is the first of nine calls for the 2022-2023 cruise season.

Hailed as the most innovative and environmentally advanced cruise ship in Costa Toscana’s fleet, the Italian based liner is powered by liquefied natural gas and equipped with cutting edge technological innovations designed to further reduce its environmental impact.
Housing 2,663 staterooms the luxurious cruise ship is 337 long and 42 meters wide, states Mwani Qatar.
Earlier this month, Doha Port welcomed the cruise ship Artania managed by Germany-based Phoenix Reisen and carrying 1011 passengers and crew onboard. According to Mwani Qatar, the 2022-2023 cruise season which kicked-off in December last year with the docking of French cruise ship ‘Le Bougainville,’ will continue to April this year with 58 cruises calling at Doha Port.
The grand terminal at Doha Port, inaugurated in 2022, has dual terminals, providing two ships berths, and the capability to welcome up to 12,000 people a day.
The port’s strategic location in the heart of Doha is in close proximity to popular tourist hotspots for arriving cruise passengers, offering easy access to the Doha Corniche, Souq Waqif and the new vibrant Mina District.
