Qatar’s first ever Eid al-Fitr festival is all set to kickstart from today at Doha Corniche Road. Organized by Qatar Tourism, the much-anticipated event is expected to witness a massive turnout of visitors. Since the whole Corniche area is closed to traffic and will be pedestrianized, reaching the venue is going to be a bit of a hassle. Majority of the public will reply on the Doha Metro to reach the venue. Additionally, Mowasalat (Karwa) has announced a free bus service to ferry visitors to Corniche for the festival.

Karwa announced on their socials that they have added as many as 70 new buses to their existing fleet that will operate routes on B and C ring road along with Corniche. The bus shuttle service is free and visitors can board a bus every 10 minutes to reach the venue. Karwa also released a map of their bus services for the event and accessible points along the said routes.

The bus shuttle service from Corniche, B and C ring roads includes northbound and southbound lines that will operate for three days during the Eid festival from May 3-5. The timings of the free shuttle are from 1 pm till midnight.

The intent behind this move is to ensure smooth visitor access to Doha Corniche while also minimizing traffic flow to areas around the area. This means people from far-off areas can also access the venue without much hassle.

The Eid al-Fitr 2022 festival is expected to witness massive footfall in the three days. The Corniche area will be host to live music performances, a balloon parade, a marching band, entertainment counters, and a fireworks display, all of which are free for the public to enjoy.
