Katara gearing up for Hunting and Falcons exhibition beginning September 5
It is that time of the year when thousands of Qatari enthusiasts once again renew their ties to the past — one filled with falconry and bird hunting.
The seventh edition of the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition — S'hail 2023 — will kick off at the Katara Culture Village on September 5.
The five-day exhibition, which will run until September 9, will feature wide international participation.
More than 190 local and international companies — representing 18 nations from around the world — are expected to be a part of the gathering. Huge participation is expected from Gulf-based exhibitors, from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
S'hail 2023’s organising committee said preparations for the prestigious event are in full swing and work on almost 90% of exhibition space and pavilions are already complete.
S’hail, which brings together falconers, hunting enthusiasts, and outdoor adventurers, is considered as the largest cultural, and heritage gathering of its kind in Qatar and the region.
The event attracts skilled craftsmen and manufacturers of falconry equipment and hunting gear. It also brings together major national and international companies specialising in fine hunting weapons, products, and equipment.
Organisers revealed that S'hail 2023 will cover a 10% bigger area than all previous editions. The expansion will help accommodate stalls by renowned hunting, falconry and camping companies from Qatar and abroad all under one roof.
S’hail 2023 will be primarily divided into three zones.
Zone A will host the main tent, where S'hail Auction featuring rare falcons will be held. It will also showcase hunting supplies, camping equipment and traditional crafts related to hunting and falconry.
Zone B will be dedicated to weapons companies and hunting rifles and will include the Souq Waqif Hospital Pavilion.
Zone C will have a tent dedicated to modified off-road vehicles for desert and hunting trips and other camping equipment.
An outdoor area has also been allocated to showcase luxurious mobile caravans used in trips and camps, along with a stage for scientific lectures and poetry seminars.
