Katara Cultural Village has announced the opening of registrations for the 14th Marmi Festival at the Qatar Al Gannas Association headquarters in Katara. Also known as the Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival, Marmi 2023 registrations will open on Saturday, December 24 and end on Monday, December 26, from 4—8 pm. Under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al Thani, this is the 14th annual edition of the festival.

Marmi Festival is an important frontrunner in preserving the culture, folklore and sentiments associated with the sport of falconry. Falconers have been registered in the World Heritage List 2011 and are significant in Arabic literature and folklore.

The registrations will close on December 26, after which the total registration count and contestant draw lots will help to finalize the details of the tournament. The timetable and schedule of events and tournaments will be confirmed. Registrations for the Young Falconer and Promising Falconer competition are scheduled to happen at Sabkhat Marmi at Sealine. Qatar Al Gannas Society has announced considerable rewards to encourage more participation by falconers.
