Famous band Rivermaya, loved by generations of Filipinos, will perform some of their most iconic hits live in Doha for the first time on February 7 at the Qatar National Convention Center.

The original lineup, featuring Bamboo Manalac, Rico Blanco, Nathan Azarcon, and Mark Escueta, will reunite for a one-night-only concert titled ‘Rivermaya The Final Reunion Tour,’ produced by Live Nation Philippines.

Panache Events & Marketing and Futad Advertising will collaborate to present their debut concert event in Qatar.

Rivermaya, with its rich history and iconic hits, embodies the heart of Filipino rock and alternative music. Their extensive song catalog, featuring hits like ‘214,’ ‘Kisapmata,’ and ‘You’ll Be Safe Here,’ has resonated well with generations of listeners.

With their powerful music and meaningful lyrics, Rivermaya has become an anthem for Filipinos around the world.

Two Rivermaya band members — Escueta and Blanco — were virtually in attendance from Manila, during an event Press conference in Doha.

“It’s a real joy and privilege that we get to reconnect after all these years. At some point, we thought it might never happen,” Blanco, the band’s lead vocalist, was quoted as saying by Qatar Tribune.

According to the event’s organizers, the growing demand for Filipino music in Qatar prompted them to bring Rivermaya to Doha.

“We’re part of the entertainment landscape in Qatar, and the community is excited to see Rivermaya perform live here. We conducted research, spoke with the Filipino community, and received a positive response about the event,” said Panache Events Director Asfhaq Nassir.

He added that around 10,000 to 12,000 Filipino fans were expected to attend the concert.

While a Platinum Package VVIP ticket will cost QAR799, a VVIP ticket is priced at QAR599. Vip Green, Orange and Yellow tickets are priced at QAR499, QAR399 and QAR299 respectively. The Pink standing tickets will cost QAR150 each.

Nassir said VVIP ticket holders (400 in number) will have a ‘meet & greet’ opportunity with the band. The event will also feature a Photo Booth and various other activations.

VVIP and VIP ticket holders will receive valet parking. While tickets are available for purchase online, physical tickets will start becoming available from February 1 onwards.

Formed in 1994, Rivermaya is one of the Philippines’ most influential and celebrated rock bands.

Known for their dynamic sound, socially relevant lyrics, and enduring popularity, they have been at the forefront of the Filipino music scene for decades.
