Lion attack leaves Qatari teen injured in Umm Salal

According to Al Sharq newspaper, a 17-year-old Qatari teenager was violently attacked by a lion in Umm Salal, sustaining severe injuries to his head and body. The incident occurred during a visit to check on a lioness he had adopted in 2022 but had handed over to an animal specialist after discovering an allergy. The young man visited the lioness only three times to check on it, the first in September 2024 and the second in November of the same year, and finally his third and most distressing visit on January 12, 2025, where he was attacked.

His family reported that the lioness's claws and fangs caused significant harm during the assault.
