If things proceed according to plan, Lusail University — the country’s first private university — could implement some major changes aimed at helping women students wishing to pursue higher studies after giving birth.

It has been learnt that Lusail University is undertaking a feasibility study to open nurseries for very young children. The aim is to help and support mothers in completing their educational careers after marriage and giving birth.

Female students can leave their children at the nursery during lectures and collect them after class. It will give female students the right supportive environment to succeed and excel in their academic careers.
It is learnt that the university has circulated a questionnaire among students to understand the facilities that would be needed at the nursery. It is also trying to determine a suitable opening date for the same.

Some of the services that are expected to be available at the nursery are a private breastfeeding room, indoor and outdoor play areaa, a designated sleeping area and an area for educational games.
Lusail University currently offers 15 programmes at the bachelor level and five programmes at the Master level. The programmes are offered across four faculties — Education and Arts, Commerce and Business, Law, and Information Technology.

This is such a great initiative by Lusail University! As a mother who had to juggle between studying and caring for my child, I would’ve loved to have a nursery on campus. It would’ve saved me so much stress. When I was working on my graduation speech, I used https://edubirdie.com/speech-writing-service to save time and focus on my child while still doing well academically. Having support systems like nurseries in place really makes a difference for mothers. Hope they implement this soon, it’s definitely needed.
