‘Match for Hope’ charity game to feature influencers and football legends
The Q Life cultural platform, under Qatar’s International Media Office (IMO), announced a charity football game — Match for Hope — to be held at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium on Friday, February 23.
The match, featuring the world’s leading content creators and football legends, is being organized in collaboration with the Education Above All Foundation (EAA) and Qatar Football Association (QFA). The game is set to kick off at 7.30pm.

While UK-based Chunkz will captain one team, AboFlah, one of the region’s biggest content creators, will captain the other.
Football legends including Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba, Kaka, Roberto Carlos, David Villa, Claude Makelele, and Qatari football star Adel Khamis will also compete. Frenchman Arsene Wenger and Italian Antonio Conte will manage the teams.
Funds from the match will be used to build awareness about EAA and its activities and will help their projects in six countries — Palestine, Sudan, Pakistan, Tanzania, Mali, and Rwanda.
Before the match, a reimagined version of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 theme song ‘Arhbo’ will be performed in collaboration with Katara Studios.
After the match, fans will also be treated to performances by Nasser Al Kubaisi, Ayad, Haneen, and GIMS.
The match will be broadcast and streamed live via Al Kass and beIN Sports globally, including on their YouTube channels in Arabic and English. It will also be streamed on other YouTube channels, which will be announced later.
Match For Hope will be broadcast and streamed in both English and Arabic on various channels and platforms, including @AlKassTVSports, @BeinSports and @YouTube

The initiative was launched to raise funds for out-of-school children and to provide them with hope for a brighter future. The match will spotlight the importance of education in creating change and empowering communities.
The match will take place at the 45,000-capacity Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, which hosted seven matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and as many games during the recent 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
The last batch of tickets for the exhibition match is currently on sale at the QFA platform and can be purchased here. Fans can donate to the initiative by clicking the website’s ‘Donate’ button.
The doors will open to the public at 4.30pm, and fans can use the Doha Metro network to access the stadium easily.
Qassim Al Jaida, Manager of the initiative, said: “Our aim for Match for Hope is to continue the legacy of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, using the power of football to raise funds and provide hope for marginalized people and communities.”
“In the inaugural edition, world-renowned content creators and former football legends will line up against each other. All proceeds from the game will go to EAA to support providing quality education for out-of-school children,” he added.
EAA representative Abdullah Al Bakri said: “All donations from the match will go directly to EAA initiatives supporting education for marginalized children in Palestine, Pakistan, Rwanda, Tanzania, Mali, and Sudan. We invite everyone to support our mission to make a positive impact by providing quality education for all.”
