Ministry of Education’s Back-to-School campaign begins
Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has launched a ‘Back-to-School Campaign’ for the 2024-25 academic year under the theme ‘My School, My Second Home.’
The campaign, which runs until August 31, is being organised in cooperation with Mowasalat (Karwa) and Msheireb Properties.
Held daily at the Msheireb Galleria Mall from 4pm to 10pm, the campaign includes activities that evoke old school memories. It features a classroom that displays school books, old tools, pictures, school films and other educational materials.
A mobile library bus is also parked in front of the campaign headquarters between 5pm and 9pm. It offers several interactive activities, various books for reading, and an area for drawing and painting.
A special pavilion for the Back-to-School Campaign will be set up at Doha Festival City from August 25 to 31. Running from 3pm to 9pm, it will feature numerous activities, events, and games for children. Several awareness workshops and interactive activities will also be conducted on stage.
“The annual campaign aims to prepare students to return to learning in the school environment with their colleagues through various recreational and educational activities. Schools are gearing up to receive their students on September 1,” said MoEHE’s Director of Public Relations and Communications Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi.
Msheireb Properties’ Executive Director of Corporate Communications Dr Hafez Ali Abdullah praised the event.
“We’re pleased that the MoEHE is organising the second edition of event at Msheireb Galleria. Qatar’s rich educational heritage inspired us to organise this event,” he said.
The Back-to-School Campaign aims to engage children and students in various educational and recreational activities, and prepare them psychologically and mentally for the start of the new school year.
The campaign also contributes to reducing feelings of fear and anxiety among new students, especially in the early childhood stage, since they need support, care, and encouragement.
