Ministry of Interior launches Sooum mobile app for public's participation in auctions
Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MoI) — as part of its efforts to develop its electronic services and offerings — launched the ‘Sooum’ mobile app on Monday. It is expected to streamline further the auctions that the department often conducts.
The application is a new step in facilitating procedures for purchasing goods offered by the MoI. The Ministry frequently conducts auctions for distinctive number plates, vehicles, boats, equipment, electronic devices, and other goods.
The application, which in its initial stages will be limited to distinctive traffic plate numbers, can be downloaded from the mobile app store. Once downloaded, it can be accessed through the registration details of a person’s Metrash 2 credentials or by creating a new account.
Sooum application was developed by incorporating latest technologies and it provides users with a distinguished experience. It contains great features including automated bidding, smart search and suggestions.
The application will offer two types of special number plate auctions — bidding and expressions of interest. It will allow the public to participate in an auction until October 31, 2023. More categories are expected to be added later.
