Mowasalat announces mandatory smartcard scanning for metrolink services starting October 1, 2023
Mowasalat Qatar announced via its social media channels yesterday that it would be mandatory to tap in and tap out for metrolink services starting October 1, 2023.
Adding that the service will continue to remain free of charge, Mowasalat added that commuters can use the Karwa Smartcard or Karwa Journey Planner App QR to access the QR code.
To utilize the service, commuters are required to install the Karwa Journey Planner App and sign-in. Before boarding the bus, passengers are required to download the E-ticket by clicking on ‘metrolink QR ticket’. The ticket will then be displayed as a golden QR code on your screen. This ticket needs to be scanned on the ticket reader when entering and leaving the bus.
Mowasalt stated that the QR code ticket will be accessible on the home screen or ‘Card Management’ section of your app. Adding that passengers are required to download the QR ticket only once, Mowasalat confirmed that it will be valid for all metrolink journeys.
