Msheireb transforms into Family-friendly hub for Ramadan
As a welcome to the holy month of Ramadan, Msherireb Downtown Doha is set to become a focal point for families and community members, Renowned for its historical significance as a gathering place, the district has curated a month-long array of immersive experiences aimed at fostering cherished memories.
From March - April, Msherieb Downtown Doha will host a diverse range of activities, including workshops, exhibitions, and entertainment. Visitors can expect engaging installations, a vibrant Bazaar, a Garangao mini-fashion show, live performances and a Ramadan competition. These offerings will be accessible daily from 8.30 pm to 1.30 am, promising an enchanting atmosphere conducive to creating enduring memories.
As part of its Ramadan festivities, Msheireb Downtown Doha will embrace traditional, cultural and religious events. The district will uphold the heritage tradition of firing the Ramadan cannon to mark iftar times, while its mosques, including Al Wadi Mosque, Msheireb Mosque, and Al Baraha Mosque, will host renowned scholars and imams for Isha and Taraweeh Prayers. These spiritual gatherings aim to provide worshippers and visitors with a distinguished environment conducive to reflection and prayer.
Moreover, Msherieb Downtown Doha will organize a series of religious lectures at Al Wadi Mosque, celebrating the sacred ambience of the holy month. Recognizing its longstanding role as a community hub, the district remains committed to preserving its spirit of inclusivity and togetherness, especially during significant occasions like Ramadan.
Community Activities
Paddle Court - Guests are invited to participate in daily paddle tournaments at the Company House Courtyard, offering a recreational outlet throughout Ramadan.
Ramadan Arts & Crafts - Families can engage in lantern-making workshops, henna art sessions, and calligraphy classes, fostering creativity and cultural appreciation.
Ramadan Workshops - Young adults can attend workshops and seminars covering various aspects of Ramadan, from Islamic traditions to cooking demonstrations and spiritual reflections.
Ramadan photography exhibitions - Baharat Musherieb will host a curated photography exhibition showcasing the essence of Ramadan, featuring works by local photographers and community members.
Ramdan Corner - A dedicated space offering henna art, dates, teas and coffee will be available in Sikka Wadi between Park Hyatt and the Doha Design District, providing a tranquil setting for relaxation and socializing.
Garangao at Msheireb Downtown Doha
Families can partake in the Garangao festivities at Msheireb, with goody bags distributed during tram tours. Additionally, visitors are encouraged to share photos of their best-dressed Garangao costumes, fostering community engagement and lasting memories throughout the month-long celebration.
