Mutaz Barshim clinches ‘Ideal Arab Athlete’ award
Qatar’s triple World Champion and Olympic gold medallist high jumper Mutaz Essa Barshim was honored with the ‘Ideal Arab Athlete’ award during the 2024 Arab Sports Culture Association Award ceremony held at the Aspire Zone in Doha on Sunday.
Mohammed bin Yousef Al Mana, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Union for Sports Culture Association, was awarded the ‘Personality of the Year Award’ while Aspire Academy won the title for ‘Best Sports Institution.’
The Qatar Football Association won the ‘Organiser of the Year’ award for successfully conducting the AFC Asian Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Arab Sports Culture Association Award for media was awarded to Qatari media figure Abdullah Al Marri, Editor in Chief of Al Raya newspaper. A number of prominent Arab and international sports figures were a part of the awarding ceremony.
