Neymar agrees to a two-year deal with Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal

Buckle up football fans, for a new transfer saga is shaping up which will likely see Brazilian superstar Neymar travel to neighbouring Saudi Arabia to play for Al Hilal Club soon.
The Brazilian, who was left out of PSG’s season-opening 0-0 draw against Lorient, is widely reported to be close to a two-year contract package worth more than $190m.
“Al Hilal booked medical tests for Neymar Jr waiting for the green light! Agreement reached with PSG and two-year deal ready for Neymar — contracts to be checked very soon,” wrote Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, who specialises in breaking international transfer news much before it is officially confirmed, on Instagram.
The deep-pocketed Saudi side, bankrolled by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund which also owns English Premier League side Newcastle United, had earlier made ambitious tries to land Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
PSG, who paid a world record fee of $242.6m for Neymar in 2017, are hoping to recoup around $87m from the 31-year-old’s sale, which they will reinvest in new players.
Neymar has enjoyed plenty of success at PSG after moving in from Barcelona. In 173 appearances for the French club, he has racked up 118 goals and 77 assists.
He also helped them to five Ligue 1 titles and three Coupe de France trophies during the time, although he failed to land a UEFA Champions League title for them.
While Al Hilal have already signed Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly, a Neymar move would undoubtedly be their biggest signing yet.
