'The Night Won't End' new documentary exposes civilian attacks in Gaza and U.S Involvement
June 21, 2024, marks a significant day as Al Jazeera English's acclaimed documentary program, 'Fault Lines' is premiering The Night Won't End, a groundbreaking feature-length film.
The documentary combines investigative reporting, in-depth storytelling, and stunning cinematography to examine attacks on civilians by the Israeli military in Gaza and the United States' involvement in the conflict.
Over several months, Fault Lines collaborated with journalists in Gaza to follow three Palestinian families, highlighting their horrifying experiences and survival amid ongoing Israeli assault. Their stories also reflect the continued support of the Israeli offensive by the Biden administration.
The Salem Family
The film showcases the December 11 airstrikes that killed over 100 people in Gaza City's Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood, with most victims from the Salem family, including 50 children. Despite relocating after the airstrikes, the family faced another massacre by Israeli ground troops.
The Al-Ghaf Family
The documentary also covers the Al-Ghaf family's tragedy, focusing on Abdullah Al-Ghaf's viral video of placing biscuits in his toddler son's shroud after an Israeli airstrike in Khan Younis. Despite evacuating to designated safe zones, his wife and two children were killed.
The Night Won't End features interviews with key figures, including U.S Senator Chis Van Hollen and Amnesty International Secretary General Agnes Callamard, discussing the allegations of civilian harm and U.S weapons role in Gaza war crimes.
The film highlights the crucial work of Palestinian journalists who documented these events despite facing severe conditions themselves.
