Qatar Chamber Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani said all preparations for the event were complete.
“It’s a source of great pride for the Qatari private sector that HH The Amir is patronizing the exhibition. With a wide range of local companies participating in the exhibition, it is playing a crucial role in supporting local industry and promoting homegrown products,” he said.
“The significant participation also highlights the keen interest of both public and private sectors to develop Qatar’s industrial sector and achieve the desired progress. Qatar’s industry has witnessed substantial growth in recent years, with numerous existing factories expanding capacity and new ones being set up,” added Sheikh Khalifa.
Ninety-six new factories were established this year, bringing the overall number to 930, compared to 834 factories in 2022. The number of industrial facilities, both existing and licensed, has also grown by 12% — from 1,264 in 2022 to 1,411 this year.
He also spoke about the diversity of industries participating in the exhibition, spanning six sectors, including petrochemicals, furniture, foodstuffs, SMEs, services, and others.
Sheikh Khalifa said the exhibition’s primary objective was to provide visitors with an opportunity to gain insights into the latest products and services within the industrial sector.
“Participants will get the chance to engage with industry experts and investors, become acquainted with successful companies operating in the state, and understand their capacity for developing their businesses,” he said.
The expo’s accompanying events will include a central panel session addressing the future of Qatar’s industry. Several seminars will also focus on different issues, like the Tawteen Programme — a national initiative aiming to create investment opportunities in the energy sector.
The discussions will also cover topics like government procurement and support for entrepreneurs.
The exhibition will also serve as a platform for bilateral meetings between Qatari investors and their foreign counterparts, facilitating deal-making and fostering alliances and partnerships in the industrial sector.
