Old Doha Port to host public events throughout January
The Old Doha Port, which has transformed itself into the country’s latest cultural hub, will host a lively set of events throughout January, it announced on social media.
The Winter Festival at the port, which will conclude today (4pm to 10pm), will feature interactive experiences with jugglers, stilt walkers, magicians, and lively mascots.
Adding to the festivities will be a dynamic roaming parade which will be held four times, creating a lively atmosphere against the port’s unique backdrop.
The buildings at the port, which is painted in vibrant hues that gives it a unique character, now also has murals by 13 local and international artists as part of the World Wide Walls mural festival.
The Custom Show Parade on January 19 will showcase a collection of classic cars, following the success of a similar event held in October last year.
Football enthusiasts will be thrilled with events packaged around the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, which will run from January 12 to February 10.
The second edition of the Visit Qatar Kite Festival will grace the Old Doha Port from January 25 to February 3.
It will feature giant kites — flown by 60 participants from around the world — against the Old Doha Port’s historical and modern backdrop.
The event, which will be held in front of the cruise terminal, will captivate the attention of international passengers during the busy cruise season that runs until April.
