Ooredoo extends its offer for free calls to Palestine until December 15
Ooredoo, Qatar’s biggest telecommunications network, is doing its bit to help the people of Palestine.
On November 15, it announced that all calls to Palestine would be free of charge for the next 15 days, until November 30.
The initiative, which helped people stay connected with their loved ones in Gaza, has now been extended by another 15 days, until December 15.
“Stay united and connected with loved ones in Gaza. FREE calls to Palestine (+970) from December 1 to December 15, 2023. It’s our way of helping you during these difficult times,” wrote Ooredoo on its social media channels.
After a days-long truce brokered by Qatar — during which tens of Israeli and Palestinian prisoners were freed — fighting resumed in Gaza Strip on Friday.
Thousands of Palestinians, most of them women and children, have perished in the incessant Israeli bombing campaign.
Israel has completely cut off the Gaza Strip and only recently allowed aid trucks to enter as part of the humanitarian pause.
