Over two million people get at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine

By QLNews

With the country's tireless efforts under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program, over two million people in Qatar have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced this yesterday in a post on its Twitter page.

As many as 2,013,080 citizens and residents of Qatar have received at least one dose of the vaccine, the Ministry infographic shows.

So far, the total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered has reached 3,708,551.

The COVID-19 vaccine doses given in the past 24 hours amounted to 22,960.

In terms of the vaccine data breakdown: Among the total eligible population (16 years and above) vaccinated, 81 percent have received at least one dose of the vaccine with 68.6 percent being fully vaccinated.

In the category of those 40 and above, 96.2 percent have gotten at least one dose while 86.3 percent have received both doses.

In the category of those 60 and above, 98.6 percent have gotten one dose while 93.5 percent have taken both doses.

MoPH continues to stress the importance of being vigilant as the risk of COVID-19 remains with two highly contagious strains of the virus that are actively circulating in the community.

Phase three of the gradual lifting of restrictions began on July 9 and is part of a four-phase plan to be delivered over the coming months.

The plan to gradually lift restrictions will be delivered over four phases with each phase lasting three weeks.

The date of implementation and the duration of each next phase will depend on the epidemic indicators, which depend to a great extent on the degree of compliance of the community members with the current measures, restrictions, and guidance by the government.”

The Ministry urges people including those who are vaccinated to continue wearing a mask as advised and maintain social distancing.
