Sheikh Mohamed expressed Qatar’s deep appreciation for Ireland’s historic position on the Palestinian cause, its early call for a ceasefire in Gaza and their criticism of double standards when dealing with aggression in the Strip.
He stressed the urgent need for the international community to act immediately to address the worsening humanitarian, moral, and legal catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.
He also expressed astonishment at the international community’s silence and double standards when dealing with Israel’s atrocities, massacres, and crimes against civilians, leading to thousands of deaths and injuries.
Sheikh Mohamed stressed the need to force Israel to comply with the United Nations Security Council resolution which calls for humanitarian truces in the Gaza Strip, establishing humanitarian corridors, an immediate ceasefire, ending all retaliatory operations, indiscriminate, genocidal measures, starvation, and forced displacement, in addition to the lifting of the unjust blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.
He also emphasised the importance of the United Nations sending international investigation teams to look into facts and examine Israeli claims and allegations used to invade hospitals and healthcare centres.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohamed on Tuesday will embark on a trip to different countries — including Russia and the UK — seeking support for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

He will be part of a tour carried out by foreign ministers of fraternal countries to a number of permanent members of the UN Security Council, said Dr Majed bin Mohamed Al Ansari, Official Spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dr Al Ansari said the tour comes as part of the mandate decision issued by the extraordinary joint Islamic-Arab summit in Riyadh on November 11 to formulate international action to stop the war in Gaza.
The initiative, undertaken on behalf of all member states of the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC), aims to reach an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, exert pressure to launch a serious and genuine political process to achieve lasting and comprehensive peace and to take deterrent measures to stop Israel’s crimes against humanity.
Sheikh Mohamed will be accompanied by Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Palestine, Turkiye, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Secretaries-General of the Arab League and OIC.
