HH The Emir directs Emiri Airforce aid plane to Somalia
HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani directed a C-17 plane, belonging to the Emiri Air Force at the Ministry of Defence, to go to the Mogadishu Airport in Somalia to help assist those affected by the deadly bomb blast a day ago.
A deadly bomb blast had ripped through Somalia’s capital, leading to hundreds of deaths and injuries.
The plane carried medical equipment and first aid to help the injured, reported The Peninsula.
Qatar International Search and Rescue Group as well as a comprehensive medical team from the Qatar Armed Forces and Hamad Medical Corporation are accompanying the aid package, reported Qatar Tribune.
The medical team, which has the latest medical equipments, will participate in the treatment of the wounded and evacuate them through an air bridge to receive treatment outside Somalia.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs will handle the coordination of receiving them and providing them with medical services from accredited hospitals.
