If you live near Al Thakhira town, make it a point to visit the new park and walkway

The Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality yesterday opened the Sharq Garden and Al Thakhira Walkway in Al Thakhira town.

The projects were executed with support from the Ras Laffan Industrial City Community Outreach Programme (RLIC-COP), as part of an ongoing co-operation between the municipalities and community service programmes, reported Gulf Times.

The park, which is spread over 4,841SqM, is equipped with an automated irrigation network to water the green space of 3,500SqM. Besides this, flowers have been planted in three areas in addition to various types of plants and 16 Sedr trees. 

Inside the park, there is a walkway stretching 320M and a width of 2M. There are also parking lots on two sides of the park.

The Al Thakhira Walkway overlooks the beach, stretches for 1,800M and has a width of 3M. It also boasts of a 2,000M cycling track.

Also installed are 93 light columns that run on solar energy. Besides, there are 60 wooden seats along the walkway in addition to 1,250SqM kids’ play area.
