The exhibition is organized by the Agriculture and Fishery Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) with the ambition to shine a spotlight on Qatar’s cultural heritage. It therefore also showcases dates produced at local farms and other parties in the country.
Inaugurated by His Excellency the Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs, MME, Sheikh Dr Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, yesterday, the exhibition introduces different kinds of dates while enhancing the cultural and heritage awareness associated with the palm tree and the importance of its fruits in terms of food and culture.
Khalid Al Khulaifi, the director of MME’s Agricultural Affairs Department noted in a press statement that the exhibition comes days before the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan to provide this significant product to citizens and residents of Qatar.
