Every year, Qatar Museums runs a Year of Culture, and in 2017 Germany is the host country for the Year of Culture programme. Through a variety of exhibitions, festivals and events, the Year of Culture promotes mutual understanding, recognition and appreciation between nations.

People are invited to discover their cultural similarities, as well as to explore their differences.

As part of the Qatar Germany Year of Culture and the exhibition 'Driven by German Design' at Al Riwaq Gallery, Qatar Museums, Volkswagen Group Culture, the German Embassy and the Goethe-Institut invite experts from various design disciplines to offer insights into their work and talk about future challenges for designers. The program addresses young creatives, Qatari design students and design enthusiasts.

Peter Wouda addresses the evolution of German automotive design: from the beginning to today’s developments and ideas for tomorrow. He also speaks about the future of mobility which includes self-driving vehicles, and he gives insights into the current work of his team at the Volkswagen Group Future Center in Potsdam.

The lecture will be held at Qatar Museums' gallery, Al Riwaq, at 5:30 pm today on the 15th of November. The lecture will be held in English, and admission is free.
