MoCI issues guidelines for cleaning and hospitality services

By QLNews

Qatar's Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced the resumption of cleaning and hospitality services from September 1, 2020.

The decision comes under Phase 4 of the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions in Qatar and complements the earlier decisions taken by the country to safeguard the health and safety of citizens and residents and limit the spread of the virus.

The Ministry decided on the following:

- Allowing workers of cleaning and hospitality service companies into the workplace or home only after checking the health color code on the Ehteraz app. Only green code holders are allowed in.

- Checking the body temperature of workers before providing the service, and to deny entry to individuals whose temperature exceeds 38 degrees Celsius.

- Requiring cleaning and hospitality service workers to wear medical masks and gloves for the duration of their time in the workplace or house.

In addition, The Ministry also highlighted that the owners of cleaning and hospitality services companies should comply with the circulars, decisions, and directives related to pandemic prevention, including:

- Instructions for the gradual re-opening plan, and the timeline announced by the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management.

- Circulars and decisions issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

- Instructions related to the responsibilities of employers to limit the spread of COVID-19 and directives for health and safety regulations issued by the MoPH.

- The policies set by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs on the precautionary measures to prevent and reduce the spread of the virus.

This decision goes into effect from Tuesday, September 1, 2020, and may be subject to amendments and updates according to the latest developments in this regard.

Any violation of this decision will subject perpetrators to legal accountability and procedures.
