MoPH announces closure of some elective health services

In the context of preventive and precautionary measures undertaken by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) to limit the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and to ensure the safety of patients and healthcare workers, the Ministry announced to stop providing elective medical services at all private health facilities except for emergency cases.
This includes dental clinics, dermatology and laser clinics, plastic surgery clinics, and surgical procedures.
In addition to that, diet and slimming centers, physiotherapy clinics, and complementary medicine of all kinds will remain close until further notice.
Moreover, to ensure the public's safety while grocery shopping, yesterday MoPH has highlighted some important preventive measures for shoppers to follow to protect themselves from the risk of contracting the virus.
Recently, the Ministry has activated a set of remote access channels to healthcare services at the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). The services will be offered with the support of TASMU Smart Qatar, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), Hukoomi and Qatar Post along with notable digital solution providers.
As health authorities in the country continue to implement the highest level of monitoring, detection, and management procedures to deal with the virus, the public has been advised to follow certain measures to safeguard their health.
This includes washing your hands often, using hand sanitizers, and keeping a distance of at least one meter (3 feet) from people who have symptoms of illness.
MoPH also advises citizens and residents to use a sleeve to cover the nose and mouth while coughing and sneezing in public or to use tissue paper and dispose it appropriately.
For any queries, or concerns related to COVID-19 in Qatar, the public can contact a 24/7 hotline set up by the Ministry. The hotline number is 16000 and is toll-free.
Here's everything you need to know about the virus, including ways to protect yourself.
