
MoPH unifies prices of COVID-19 tests across private health facilities in Qatar

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced that the prices of COVID-19 tests in private health facilities will be unified starting April 8, 2021.
According to MoPH’s recent post, the cost of a COVID-19 test in private health facilities has been determined at a fixed rate of QAR 300.
The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has decided to set a flat rate for (Covid-19) swab test in private health facilities at QR 300 QR effective Thursday, April 08.

Earlier this week, Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) had communicated the temporary halt of providing COVID-19 PCR swabs for people traveling abroad.
PHCC explained that this service would be provided by certain private health care facilities and shared a list of the approved 44 private health centers.
According to MoPH, the PHCC teams at health centers are among those leading the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program and the staff has been working tirelessly to provide COVID-19 swabs for people showing signs and symptoms of the virus.
The decision has been taken to help these teams focus more on offering services to people with COVID-19 and those being vaccinated.
Noura Abdullah Al Mulla, Director of Health Facilities Licensing and Accreditation Department, commended the huge collaboration of the private healthcare facilities and the important role they play in supporting the public sector in combating the COVID-19 pandemic and being a key partner of the public health sector.
