Mowasalat (Karwa), Qatar’s National Transport Provider, has partnered with Qatar Charity (QC) to distribute free Karwa SmartCards to workers, under its social responsibility activities during the holy month of Ramadan.

The free bus transportation cards will be given out to workers together with Iftar meals by Qatar Charity, during Ramadan.

Nasser Mamdouh M. Al-Shammari, Mowasalat (Karwa) Operations Manager - Light Transport Services, delivered the rechargeable tickets to Ahmed Omar Al-Sherawi, head of the Relations and Social Responsibility section at Qatar Charity.

Al-Sherawi expressed his pride in the fruitful and continuous partnership and cooperation with Mowasalat (Karwa), which has provided free Karwa SmartCards for the workers who use the public transport most in the country.

He thanked the company for this support, which is a humanitarian gesture that contributes to sharing the joy of Ramadan with the laborers and reflects gratitude toward their contribution to building the State of Qatar.

Qatar Charity is keen to cooperate with institutions and companies that want to implement humanitarian initiatives, within the framework of their societal responsibility, for the benefit of the community, Al-Sherawi added.

Fahad Saad Al-Qahtani, Mowasalat (Karwa) CEO, highlighted, “Building community through transport is the driving factor in all of the company’s social responsibility activities, and it is a consequent step to support the most frequent users of our public bus network.”

“Apart from such social engagement we also collaborate with various ministries and governmental organizations on workshops, lectures and trainings to promote road and traffic safety. Our ultimate responsibility lays with contributing to the legacy of a safe and environmentally friendly traffic infrastructure for future generations,” Al-Qahtani said.
