Nepal requests free visa, air tickets for migrant workers to Qatar

Former deputy PM and foreign minister of Nepal, UCPN (Maoist) leader Narayan Kai Shrestha has asked the government of Qatar to permit migrant workers from Nepal to enter Qatar under a free-visa and free-ticket policy.
The request for free visa and air tickets for workers coming to Qatar from Nepal was put forward when Shrestha met the Qatari Minister of Administrative Development and Labour and Social Affairs Issa bin Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi on Saturday.
“The Nepal government is seriously working to send workers to Qatar without charges for visa and [air] ticket,” said Shrestha, reports kathmandupost.com.
Minister Nuaimi informed that the Qatari government has amended laws for the welfare of migrants and made it mandatory for companies to pay workers through banks.
Nuaimi also assured of solving problems related to Nepalis if Nepal’s embassy reported them. He requested the Nepal government to make worker departures to Qatar hassle-free.
However, as usual, the law is NOT implemented and followed up seriously! So, we are looking here at another blah, b;ah, blah.
Imagine, visa and air ticket have to be paid by the employer/sponsor already, unless they don't honor the laws of Qatar, of course.
The air ticket and visa costs should be borne by the employer not the workers anyway
