Qatar Airways resumes flights to Cairo in Egypt

By QLNews

Qatar Airways resumed flights to Cairo in Egypt on January 18, 2021, with a daily service.

QR1301 departed Hamad International Airport (HIA) to Cairo International Airport at 15:15 local time and landed at its destination at 17:40 local time. The flight was operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Qatar Airways will be resuming flights to Alexandria on Monday, January 25, QR1317 will depart from DOH at 15:15 and will land at HBE at 17:50.

Passengers traveling from Egypt with Qatar Airways can now enjoy seamless connectivity to over 110 global destinations via its state-of-the-art hub, HIA.

Egypt reopened airspace for flights to and from Qatar on January 12, 2021.

This move comes shortly after the historic GCC Summit that took place in Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

Last week, leaders of the Gulf States came together at the 41st session of the Supreme Council of the Co-operation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), held in Al-Ula Governorate in Saudi Arabia.

Under the Al-Ula Declaration, the countries agreed to restore relations and pledged to enhance cooperation for the stability and prosperity of the Gulf region.

The agreement between the leaders signals a new phase of unity, brotherhood, and solidarity in the GCC.

Qatar Airways has become the first global airline in the world to achieve the prestigious 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating by international air transport rating organization, Skytrax.

The achievement of the Skytrax 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating is in addition to Qatar Airways’ home and hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA), recently being named as the first airport in the Middle East and Asia to be awarded a Skytrax 5-Star COVID-19 Airport Safety Rating in December 2020.

Recently, Qatar Airways achieved the Diamond Standard in the Airline Passenger Experience Association’s (APEX) Health Safety Powered by SimpliFlying audit.

With more frequencies being added to key hubs, Qatar Airways offers unrivaled connectivity to passengers, making it easy for them to change their travel dates or destination if they need to.

When traveling with Qatar Airways in 2021, passengers can expect the highest levels of safety throughout their journey.

Qatar Airways currently operates more than 800 weekly flights to over 110 destinations across the globe. By the end of March 2021, Qatar Airways plans to rebuild its network to 129. Many cities will be served with a strong schedule with daily or more frequencies.
