Qatar Charity launches campaign to support Sudan floods

By QLNews

Qatar Charity (QC) has always come forth with its strong humanitarian spirit to support countries across the world in times of crisis and emergency.

Stressing the need for international solidarity and unity, the Gulf state has aided several countries more recently through the COVID-19 pandemic.

As Sudan faces another catastrophe, more than half a million people have been affected by the violent floods that have destroyed more than 100 thousand homes killing at least 100 people, while others remain homeless.

The field teams of QC initiated the distribution of urgent relief aid to the victims of the unprecedented devastating flood in Sudan.

QC teams have supported the families affected by the flood delivering food parcels, personal hygiene kits, mattresses, and blankets to the most affected people in Ad-Damar and Berber of the River Nile State, as well as in Jabal Awliya and Bahri in the Khartoum State.

The urgent humanitarian intervention comes within the framework of the relief campaign entitled "Peace for Sudan", which was launched by Qatar Charity to provide QR7.3million urgent shelter and food aid to the affected people in Sudan.

As part of the campaign, which is expected to benefit 75,000 persons, the field teams will distribute medical and study tents and other shelter essentials, in addition to giving tents to vulnerable families.

His Excellency Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani held a telephonic conversation with the Prime Minister of the Republic of the Sudan Dr Abdalla Hamdok, during which he expressed his sincere condolences on the victims of the floods that swept through several regions in Sudan.

Last year, the country affirmed its full support to ensure Sudan’s stability and sovereignty and backed the formation of the new Sudanese government, calling it an important step toward the realization of the aspirations of the Sudanese people.

Qatar Charity appeals to the people in Qatar to support Sudan flood victims, who are in desperate need of emergency aid, and help them survive this humanitarian disaster, urging benefactors to contribute to Qatar Charity's "Peace for Sudan" relief campaign to maximize the number of food and shelter aid beneficiaries.

As QC continues its campaign to donate for "Peace for Sudan’’, it has welcomed benefactors in Qatar to contribute to the campaign to draw a smile on the face of beneficiaries.

Providing its supporters with a wide range of options to donate for Sudan, Qatar Charity will receive donations through its website or Qcharity app

If you wish to donate, you can do so via the Qcharity app or its website.

Donors can also reach Qatar Charity through hotline 44667711, SMS to 92652 (for Ooredoo customers), and its branches and collection points across the country.
