Here's some news for the fans of World Touring Car Championship (WTTC). The final rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship will take place in Qatar on 26 and 27 of November at the Losail International Circuit.

This last round has generated a lot of interest among the fans of the event all around the world, for this would be the first time that the WTTC will be held in the Middle East. Also, this would be the very first time that the car championship will be held at night under the floodlight of Losail International Circuit.

The race consists of 12 rounds, and this year Qatar will round up the event with its ever famous Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah participating in this round.

The fans of WTCC can enjoy the thrilling event by witnessing it firsthand at the main grandstand of the circuit. Also, for the enthusiasts who can’t make it to the stand, the race will also be telecasted live by Eurosport who will do an extensive coverage of it.

FIA Vice President and QMMF President Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Attiyha said: "We are delighted to be hosting the WTCC for the first time here in Qatar and providing the drivers with a special first night event for the championship.”

He also added, “We really hope that all the fans will enjoy this championship and very happy. Eurosport TV are broadcasting first time in Qatar and are fully supported in distributing the TV images all over the world.'' 

Francois Ribeiro, Head of Eurosport Events, the WTCC promoter, said: "We are very pleased to welcome Nasser Al-Attiyah to the WTCC family for the championship’s first visit to the Middle East and its first night race.”

He further continued, “Like his profile, Nasser’s sporting CV is massive and it’s a real honour he accepted our invitation to make his WTCC debut on home soil. He’s a great character and true ambassador and we look forward to working with him and the increased interest from the fans and media his participation will bring."[QNA]
