In addition to Qatar Airways announcement regarding flights to and from Italy, entry to the State of Qatar is temporarily suspended from 14 countries as of March 9, 2020, as a preventive measure due to the spread of COVID-19 worldwide.

The decision includes the following countries: Bangladesh, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Thailand which affects all individuals intending to enter Qatar, including visas on arrival, QID holders or work permit holders, and temporary visitors.

The State of Qatar urges all citizens and residents to avoid all but essential travel at this time.

These precautionary measures may be subject to further updates based on the latest guidance of the national health authorities and international organizations on the spread of Coronavirus, in order to ensure the safety of all residents of the State of Qatar.

I understand its Govts discretion however, I suggest that at least give residents 2-3 days to return. I am sure sense will prevail. rather than simply banning entry, let the residents go through any process Govt decides.

How can you compare visitors and residents on same scale ?

Most racist decision on history . Nepal has zero confirmed corona cases . Suspending travelers from Poor countries like Nepal will not help Qatar to prevent spreads of Covid 19 .

At least give residents and citizens advance notice so they can cancel trips abroad or come back within a certain time. people went on company business for couple of days and now can't come back.

I think Qatar is not only considered the reported cases in above countries. Considered no of passengers coming from theses countries. it increases the risk.

this is insane if you really want to do this at least give the citizens and residents advance information not to travel as we will ban from this date. many other countries have way more cases than some in the list. I don't know who came up with this genius list?

By finest83• 9 Mar 2020 08:27

why not Italy?

This is just a racist list. Nepal has one confirmed case, and Pakistan 5. Why are they on this list? Many more cases in Kuwait and Bahrain, why no ban for them?

why not travelers from US,UK, Australia, typical middle eastern mentality .
