Qatar’s population is now officially back to 2.6m people again
If the illegal siege of Qatar, which began almost four months ago, has scared people away from living in the country, then there certainly seems to be no proof for it.
The country’s population has once again returned to exceed the 2.6m mark after more than three months, according to latest figures released by the Ministry of Development, Planning and Statistics.
As per figures, the country’s population stood at 2.634m at the end of September, which was 3.2% more than the figures of the corresponding period last year, reported Gulf Times.
Qatar’s population had crossed the 2.6m mark for the first time in October, 2016.
The latest figure is about 7.7% more than the population a month ago (August 30), which was 2.446mn. It was the lowest figure in the last four months as many people had left the country on annual vacation.
The country’s highest-ever population was recorded in May 2017, when numbers exceeded 2.7m.
